Check the update prompt

Open the app and read any update message in full. If the message includes a version label or release notes, compare them with what is shown during installation. A download date alone does not identify an app version.

You can usually find the installed version under Android Settings → Apps → the app’s information page. The exact location depends on your phone. Keep a note of the current version if you are asking for help with an update.

Prepare your phone

  • Make sure you can use your existing sign-in method.
  • Leave enough free storage for both the download and installation.
  • Use a steady connection and let any pending download finish.
  • Close the app before starting the installation step.

Install over the existing app first

Follow the update route shown in the app or use the download entry on our homepage. Open the completed file and review Android’s installer. When the package and signing identity are compatible, Android can handle the file as an update to the installed app.

Let the installer finish before opening the app again. If it succeeds, open the app and confirm that you can access your account through the normal sign-in screen.

Understand an update conflict

Messages such as “App not installed” or a package conflict can have several causes: a partial file, insufficient storage, unsupported device requirements or a different signing identity. The wording alone does not prove which cause applies.

Keep the old installation while you investigate. Uninstalling or clearing storage can remove settings or data kept only on the phone. Check our file verification guide and troubleshooting guide before trying again.

Have useful details ready

When contacting the help entry in your app, include your phone model, Android version, current app version if visible, and the exact error message. Leave passwords, one-time codes and payment details out of screenshots.
